Why a haircut for international hair is different

Western, blonde, curly, wavy and other hair types behave differently from typical Japanese hair — different density, movement and how they hold a shape. Many salons in Tokyo aren’t used to cutting them, and language makes it harder to explain what you want. The result is often a cut that doesn’t sit right.

Here, your cut is tailored to your hair type and your face, and we discuss it fully in English (or 中文) before I start. After 23 years — including years working in Singapore — international hair is what I do every day.
