The problem
This client was visiting Tokyo from California. Her hair is long, thick, and dark. It had no layers, so it felt heavy and a little flat. She wanted more shape and movement, but she did not want to lose the length.
What I did
I gave her a layered cut. Layers remove some weight from long hair and let it move more freely. I kept the length long, and added soft layers around the face and through the ends. Then I styled it with a blow-dry to show the new shape.
The result
Now her hair has soft layers and bounce. It looks lighter and full of movement, but it is still long. The ends curve nicely, and it is easy to style at home. A simple cut, but a big change.
