Before & after — acid straightening on previously bleached hair
The challenge: straightening hair that’s already been bleached
This client has beautiful mixed-texture hair — Thai and Swedish heritage — and wanted it smooth and straight. But there was a catch I found during counselling: at a previous salon the hair had been bleached and highlighted. Chemically lightened hair is already fragile, and straightening it carelessly is one of the fastest ways to cause breakage. This needed a careful, custom approach.
How I handled the damage
Counselling first. Before touching a single strand, I assessed exactly how much the bleach and highlights had weakened the hair, section by section.
Custom chemical selection, one application. Rather than a one-size-fits-all product, I chose the straightening agent to match the hair’s actual damage level, and applied a single, carefully judged coat — strong enough to straighten, gentle enough to protect.

Smooth, glossy and healthy-looking — even on previously bleached hair
The result
The finish came out beautifully — sleek, soft and full of shine, with none of the dryness you’d fear on bleached hair. This is exactly why counselling and honest chemical selection matter: with the right plan, even lightened, damaged hair can be straightened safely and look genuinely healthy.
