Can I Get Japanese Hair Straightening? Send Your Hair Photos Before Booking

Not sure whether you need Japanese hair straightening, acid straightening, or a hair treatment? You don’t need to decide by yourself.

Hair treatment names can mean different things in different countries. What matters most is your current hair condition, your chemical history, and the result you want.

Before booking, you can send me photos of your hair on WhatsApp. I’ll give you an initial recommendation based on your photos and hair history. The final decision is always made after I check your hair in person at the salon.

You Don’t Need to Know Which Treatment to Choose

Japanese hair straightening, acid straightening, keratin treatment, smoothing treatment, hair treatment, 髪質改善 — these names are used differently in different countries, and sometimes the same word describes completely different services. It’s normal to feel unsure which one applies to your hair.

So instead of choosing a treatment name, just tell me what you want your hair to look and feel like — I’ll help you choose the treatment.

What Photos Should You Send Me?

  • Back view of your hair
  • Side view
  • Roots / natural texture
  • Ends or any damaged areas up close
  • An inspiration photo showing the result you would like

If possible, take the photos with dry hair in its natural state — not flat-ironed or blow-dried straight. Natural photos show me much more about your real texture.

Tell Me Your Hair History

Along with the photos, let me know what your hair has been through in the past 2–3 years:

  • Hair color
  • Bleach or highlights
  • Previous straightening
  • Relaxer
  • Keratin or smoothing treatments

You don’t need to remember everything perfectly — whatever you can recall is enough to start.

What I Can Check From Photos

From your photos, I can usually get a good first look at your curl or wave pattern, frizz, volume, the visible condition of your ends, and signs relevant to previous color or chemical treatments.

Photos are useful for an initial assessment, but they cannot show everything about the condition and strength of your hair. That’s why the photo check is a starting point, not a final answer.

The Final Decision Is Made at the Salon

When you visit, I check your hair directly — how it looks, feels, and responds — together with your history. Only then do we decide the final treatment.

If the treatment you had in mind isn’t suitable for your hair’s current condition, I may recommend a different option, or in some cases advise waiting. This is always to protect the safety and condition of your hair.

For details about visiting, see the Booking & FAQ page.
