Client Story · Singapore → Ginza
Years ago in Singapore, I cut a client’s hair. This week, that same client’s two sons walked into my salon in Ginza for their own haircuts. Watching a relationship pass to the next generation is something I will never take for granted.

The next generation — my Singapore client’s sons, now in my chair in Ginza
A relationship that crossed a generation
When I worked in Singapore, I built real trust with the families I looked after. One of those clients clearly passed that trust on — because their sons chose to come all the way to my salon in Ginza, Tokyo, for a simple haircut. They could go anywhere. They came to me.
For a stylist, there is no higher compliment. It tells me the care we take, one client at a time, becomes something a family remembers and shares. That is exactly the kind of long relationship I hope to build with everyone who sits in my chair.
What we did
Both wanted clean, well-shaped cuts — the kind of precise English-speaking haircut that’s easy to style and grows out nicely. If you’re looking for ideas, my guide to haircut styles in Tokyo for foreigners walks through the most popular looks.
If you’re new to Tokyo
Whether you’re a visitor, an expat, or a family looking for a stylist you can return to, this is the heart of how I work: one-on-one, unhurried, in English or 中文, building trust cut by cut. You can read about my journey from Singapore to Ginza, or meet more of the people I’ve looked after — like the Singapore clients who visit me every year.
