A guest from Mexico came to see me for straightening. Her hair was bleached, and the ends had taken a lot of heat damage.

Her hair history
She had bleached her hair in March this year, and she uses a straightening iron on her hair every morning. When she came in, the ends showed breakage and split ends, and the overall damage was clear.
What I did
I treated the lengths and the ends with different care in mind.
- Straightening: Acid Straightening
- Ends: X Treatment
- Cut: I also cut off the most damaged parts of the ends
Cutting the worst of the ends was part of the plan. Ends that are already broken and split do not recover through treatment alone, so removing them gives the straightening a better base to work with.

A note on bleached and heat-damaged hair
Hair that has been bleached and then heated every day is more fragile, and not every head of hair can be straightened. It depends on the condition of your hair on the day. If you are wondering how straightening affects hair, I explain it in Does Japanese Hair Straightening Damage Your Hair?, and you can see another bleached-hair case in this client story.
